Hey there friends! Thanks so much for stopping by, I’m Michelle Castro, the host of the Consider Jesus Podcast. I’ve gone back and forth on what to share here and how to prepare you for what’s to come. I’m a bottom line kinda girl and the nuts and bolts of it is…I want to encourage you to CONSIDER JESUS in all you do, but I also want to do that while having REAL, RAW, and HONEST conversations about those things we, as Christians, just don’t seem to talk about. Things like grief, sex, loss, marriage, parenting, mental health, friendships, and so much more! Through the ups and downs of my own personal story I’ve kinda become the one who tends to rip the bandaid off and say the hard things. Not because it comes naturally…nope, I’d really prefer to keep my dirt hidden, but because, the Lord has so kindly shown me that I am NOT THE ONLY ONE walking these different roads! I know you have a lot on your plate…whether it’s being a wife, mama, working, all of these, some of these, or completely different things…I want this place to be a space of comfort and encouragement! hebrews 3:1 says “Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, Webster’s dictionary defines “consider” like this: “to gaze on steadily or reflectively” I LOVE that! I want to gaze steadily upon Jesus. I want to REFLECT Him in all I do…and I’m guessing…you do too! It’s my desire through this podcast to point you to Jesus while sharing real life stuff with you! You’ll hear from me and some pretty incredible guests. I’m not your typical 51 year old…I have fuschia hair, like my free people barrels, I’m just as happy reading a book on the couch as I am with my miter saw in the garage working on some hair-brained DIY project. I love a little coffee with my creamer, sitting around the kitchen table catching up with my family, and I’ll drive just about anywhere if tacos are involved! Anyone else have the gift of overcomplicating or overextending????
Just me?!
Ok...well then...keep scrolling.
But...if you too have a tendency to self-inflict pain in the form of over complicating, then this little soundbite is for you!
The reality is...if we're overcommitted and overextended we can't really show up for Jesus like we should...which then means that we're probably not doing such a stellar job for our family...just a guess...cause that's how things play out for me. :(

Today on GATG we're talking about our weaknesses and how, as a Christian, it's so good to be reminded that they are a good thing. They are meant to point us to Christ. It's one of those things that we probably say and agree with, but then when the rubber hits the road, the bottom falls out, life is insanely hard, or maybe you throw your back out and your forced to ask yourself if you actually believe what you too eagerly agree with!
Yes...that was a run-on sentence, but no one's grading me, so I'm totally ok with it!

I don't know about you, but there are times when it seems like everyone else seems to be living an idyllic life...everyone but me! Social media tends to paint a picture of these beautiful, easy lives void of suffering and disappointments. Part of my brain knows that's a lie and not reality, but then there's this part of me that can fall into the trap that it's real. Today, I'm talking with my friend (and my kids' high school pastor) about SUFFERING! Sadly, I think it's something we shy away from - I mean...who wants to sit around and talk about the disappointments and pain of life!? Well, as believers we need to understand what the Lord says about suffering, how to suffer, and how to honor Him in the process. There is HOPE! A lot of HOPE! And as discouraging as this topic may sound...I pray you walk away encouraged!

Hey there friend!
It's really great to see you here! Whether you're new here or been around for a while, I couldn't be more thrilled and honored that you've chosen to take a listen.
Here's the thing...no matter what's going on in your life I hope you find hope and encouragement through this podcast, not because of the words I'm saying, but because of Jesus Christ! It is my deepest prayer that you see Christ first and always in all that I do.
Hebrews 3:1 tells us that those of us who share in the heavenly calling are to CONSIDER JESUS. He is the ultimate High Priest. He is the one we take everything to. And it is because of His life, death, and resurrection that we have HOPE of eternity. I want to encourage you and challenge you through each episode to CONSIDER JESUS in all of it! We're going to talk about things that just don't get discussed in polite Christian circles. I'm always down to rip the bandaid off and start talking about some of those "taboo" topics.
Grab that coffee beeping at you from the microwave, stick your earbuds in, and get ready to start being comfortable with being uncomfortable!

I've literally been waiting MONTHS for this one!!! Today, I'm sharing two of my dearest friends with you and we're talking all about FRIENDSHIP. The REAL, RAW, AND HONEST kind of friendship. What's amazing is how each of us had been praying, separately, for deep friendships...and the Lord answered!

Well, let's just JUMP right in to the deep end!
When I said I wanted to have raw, real, and HONEST conversations...THIS is EXACTLY what I meant!
As Christians, we throw verses like Philippians 4:6 around - pray about everything...but do you we REALLY mean it? Or do we just say it for the "BIG" things? I've got news for you...the intimacy in your marriage is a BIG thing!
Let's rip this bandaid off, because there's more where this comes from!
