Hey there friends! Thanks so much for stopping by, I’m Michelle Castro, the host of the Consider Jesus Podcast. I’ve gone back and forth on what to share here and how to prepare you for what’s to come. I’m a bottom line kinda girl and the nuts and bolts of it is…I want to encourage you to CONSIDER JESUS in all you do, but I also want to do that while having REAL, RAW, and HONEST conversations about those things we, as Christians, just don’t seem to talk about. Things like grief, sex, loss, marriage, parenting, mental health, friendships, and so much more! Through the ups and downs of my own personal story I’ve kinda become the one who tends to rip the bandaid off and say the hard things. Not because it comes naturally…nope, I’d really prefer to keep my dirt hidden, but because, the Lord has so kindly shown me that I am NOT THE ONLY ONE walking these different roads! I know you have a lot on your plate…whether it’s being a wife, mama, working, all of these, some of these, or completely different things…I want this place to be a space of comfort and encouragement! hebrews 3:1 says “Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, Webster’s dictionary defines “consider” like this: “to gaze on steadily or reflectively” I LOVE that! I want to gaze steadily upon Jesus. I want to REFLECT Him in all I do…and I’m guessing…you do too! It’s my desire through this podcast to point you to Jesus while sharing real life stuff with you! You’ll hear from me and some pretty incredible guests. I’m not your typical 51 year old…I have fuschia hair, like my free people barrels, I’m just as happy reading a book on the couch as I am with my miter saw in the garage working on some hair-brained DIY project. I love a little coffee with my creamer, sitting around the kitchen table catching up with my family, and I’ll drive just about anywhere if tacos are involved! I love November...maybe because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
I recently shared this saying in the Facebook community - "gratitude helps you see what's there instead of what isn't"
Read that over a couple of times.
It seems appropriate that each Mindset Monday in the month of November will be focused on THANKFULNESS & GRATITUDE.
Today we're starting out with 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Short, sweet, and to the point. Three commands followed up with WHY we're to do them.

Have you ever thought of it that way?
Have you ever considered that your excuses are keeping you from BLESSINGS the Lord has for you?!
Today's episode is taken directly from Exodus and we're looking at Moses...remember that guy?
He's not too dissimilar from each of us...in fact, I bet, if you're honest, you'll see a lot of yourself in him. He throws out three excuses to God and God comes right back. But my favorite part is when we see the Lord declaring His provision and promises to Moses! The God of Moses is OUR God too!
Be prepared to have your mind blown
AND...sure we can sit back and be aghast at the things Moses said and did...but the fact of the matter is we do the same things! We throw excuses up to the Lord and tell Him why we can't have the business and growth and success that we want. Does that sound familiar?

We're going to spend some time in Colossians 2:6-7 - "Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
YES AND AMEN to that!

Well...here's what I know to be TRUE...the Lord DOES talk to us...just not in an audible way. In the last 3 months I've heard the Lord speaking to me in a variety of different ways and I bet you have too. The key is to get quiet and LISTEN!
Today I'm sharing 5 ways I've heard the Lord speak to me...and I bet He's spoken to you through these ways too...and maybe many others!

Did you know the entire book of Hebrews is to point us to Jesus?
And not just point us to Jesus, but to show us that while the Lord has given us so many wonderful examples in the Bible...there is no one better than Jesus!
I know you love Jesus and I know you understand how incredible He is.
But do you?
I feel like I can ask that because I still forget how INCREDIBLE Jesus is and, too often, I'm guilty of looking to one of the many heroes of the faith and being tempted to glorify them above Jesus.
There is NONE BETTER THAN JESUS
And today I'm sharing Hebrews 1 where we see exactly who this Jesus is and how AWESOME He truly is. How unique He is. How He is unlike anyone we will ever know. The best part...we are able to call upon Him.
We are able to KNOW Him!
We are able to TRUST HIm!
I know you have BIG Goals and dreams for your business...but there is nothing better than knowing Jesus! He is the ULTIMATE Thanksgiving!
I pray that you take some time to read Hebrews 1 for yourself. Meditate upon it.
So that you may have a deeper understanding of who Jesus is!

I DELETED the instagram app...and I've lived to tell about it! haha!
I joke...but you know you're thinking "I could NEVER do that!"
And then there's another part of you that's like..."man I wish I wasn't so connected to social media."
And then there's that other part of you that's saying..."I NEED it for my business."
I understand ALL of that!
I really, really do.
I don't hate social media...in fact I really like it.
BUT...I know that my God doesn't need instagram to do amazing, unbelievable things.
I don't know if He's been putting that on your heart...but He hit me between the eyes and I'm sharing all about it today!
